vegan zero point ww sauce
If you’re looking for a low cal, high protein pasta sauce, that also happens to be zero points on WW (Weight Watchers), you’ve found the easy and quick recipe! A few ingredients makes this a super flavorful sauce that goes wonderfully with Miracle Noodles (ziti and fettuccine are my favorite) or spaghetti squash.
Ingredients
1/4 - 1/2 red onion, diced
Organic Chosen Foods Avocado oil (or olive oil) spray
1/2 bag spinach
1 cup mushroom
1 block extra firm tofu, pressed to eliminate liquid
1 can Muir Glen tomato sauce (no sugar added)
Seasonings: Mrs. Dash table blend, lemon pepper, pink salt
Instructions
Start by placing block of tofu on a layer of paper towels or a clean kitchen towel, allow liquid to drain out.
Warm a few sprays of the oil in a large pan.
Add diced onion and brick of tofu, use a wooden spoon to break the tofu up into chunks. Allow to cook til tofu is slightly golden.
Add mushroom, cook another 5 minutes.
Add seasonings (to taste), spinach and can of tomato sauce.
Allow sauce to boil, then down to low and simmer for 5 minutes while you prep the Miracle Noodles, pasta (regular pasta will add points to your meal) or spaghetti squash.
Serve hot. I sprinkled nutritional yeast on top of my dish for a cheesy flavor.
This sauce will make 2-3 servings. Great for meal prep.
